Yoshikazu Obatake

Franco-Japanese, I grew up in a family where craftsmanship, creation and manual work were always present. From haute couture to tatami mat making to shoe modeling, my family passed on to me a love of meticulous work and know-how. This environment, this heritage, had a profound influence on me, without me even realizing it at first.

After several years of scientific studies, I felt that something was missing. Perhaps it was the desire to return to disciplines where you create with your hands, as I had always done as a child, or perhaps a family heritage that was calling me. So I decided to take up watchmaking. Once I had obtained my Diplôme des Métiers d'Art with the congratulations of the jury, I continued my apprenticeship on my own, with the help of invaluable advice from a handful of benevolent watchmakers.

Over time, this passion led me to develop Memori, a concept close to my heart: offering a new approach to the passage of time through a watch complication. I gathered the necessary tools and began developing this project alongside my other activities.

Since 2022, I have devoted myself entirely to this project. Today, I'm delighted to have completed the first prototype. My goal is to complete a series of 5 prototypes by 2026.

Thank you for taking the time to discover my project. If you'd like to know more, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
